1. Project Strategy Session

Investment: $450 (ex GST)

Format: 1–1.5 hour one-on-one session (in person or online)

Purpose

Before you invest time, money and energy into your project, let’s make sure you’re heading in the right direction.

The Project Strategy Session is a focused advisory session designed to provide clarity before design begins.

Ideal for homeowners who are considering a renovation, retrofit or new home and want to understand their options, identify potential risks and opportunities, and gain clarity before committing to the next stage.

Prior to the session, you’ll share key information about your site or home and what you’re hoping to achieve. This is reviewed in advance so our time together is targeted and productive.

Who This Session Is For

This session is ideal if you:

  • Aren’t sure where to start
  • Are concerned about comfort, health or energy performance in your home
  • Need clarity on costs, approvals or project scope
  • Want greater clarity and confidence before moving forward

What We Cover

  • Opportunities to improve comfort, indoor air quality and energy performance
  • Your site or existing home, opportunities and constraints

  • A better understanding of how comfort, performance and budget interact
  • Confidence to move forward with greater clarity

2. Project Foundations

Feasibility and Pre-design

Turning ideas into a clear direction

Purpose

Project Foundations is an early design and feasibility stage that helps align your aspirations, site opportunities and budget expectations before investing in detailed design.

Through a site visit, site investigations, early design thinking and exploratory sketch design, we’ll test possibilities, identify opportunities and constraints, and establish a clear and considered direction for your project.

This process helps test ideas, identify opportunities and constraints, and explore how your aspirations align with the realities of the site and budget. By investigating these issues early, Project Foundations can help reduce the risk of costly rework and provide greater confidence before investing in detailed design and documentation.

Who This Stage Is For

Project Foundations is ideal if you:

  • Are ready to begin exploring design possibilities for your project
  • Want to understand how your home could better support the way you live
  • Value early design thinking before committing to detailed design
  • Are seeking a thoughtful balance between comfort, performance, budget and everyday living
  • Want confidence that your project is responding appropriately to both your needs and the site

What We Explore

  • Your brief, priorities and long-term goals
  • How you want your home to feel, function and perform
  • Site opportunities and constraints
  • Planning considerations and approval pathways
  • How your aspirations align with likely construction budgets
  • Key project cost drivers and where early decisions may influence cost
  • Opportunities to improve comfort, energy efficiency and environmental performance

What You Receive

  • Preliminary hand-drawn sketches exploring potential design options and directions
  • A Project Foundations Report outlining key findings, recommendations and next steps.

These sketches are intended to explore possibilities, test ideas and help establish a clear direction before investing in detailed design.

Outcomes

  • Exploration of potential design directions before committing to detailed design
  • Early consideration of orientation, sunlight and connection to site
  • Greater clarity around project scope, priorities and budget expectations
  • Increased confidence that your project is aligned with both your aspirations and the opportunities and constraints of the site

This Stage Includes:

  • Initial briefing meeting
  • Site visit
  • Review meeting (online or in person)

Typical Investment

  • Small internal renovation projects from $2250 (ex GST)
  •  Extensions and new homes from $3250 (ex GST)

Final investment is confirmed  once scope and complexity are understood.

The above investment is based on existing drawings being provided. If a measure-up and preparation of current floor plans is required, this can be included as an additional service.

Project Foundations provides a structured feasibility and early design process that helps test possibilities, align aspirations with site and budget realities, and establish a clear direction before investing in detailed design. It also forms a natural foundation for Full Architectural Services should you choose to proceed.

3. Full Architectural Services

From Concept to Completion

Developing your project from concept through to construction.

Once the brief, site strategy and budget are aligned, we move into the design and documentation of your home.

This is where ideas are refined into a well-considered design that balances comfort, functionality, performance and budget. The design is then developed into detailed documentation for planning approval and construction.

Our Process

  • Feasibility and Pre-design (as required)
  • Concept Design
  • Design Development
  • Planning Approvals
  • Detailed Documentation
  • Builder Selection and Pricing
  • Construction Phase Involvement

Not every project requires the same level of involvement. Services can be tailored to suit the complexity of your project and your preferred construction pathway.

Fees

Fees for full architectural services are typically offered as a fixed fee, determined once the project scope, complexity and level of involvement are clearly defined.

A detailed fee proposal is prepared once the brief, budget parameters and performance objectives are aligned — either following the Project Foundations stage or direct engagement at this stage.

Our Process

Designing a home should feel considered, not overwhelming.

We guide you through each stage with a thoughtful, collaborative approach, so you feel confident in the decisions being made along the way.
